What makes people change their job?

Based on a personal experience, I saw that not everyone has the same preferences. It depends of many factores like your age, your personal situation or your ideology. I really liked my job. But, recently I got a new offer with better conditions like better working hours and more salary. So, I decided to accept and changed. Talking about my decision with one of my collegues, she asked me why I change. In her opinion, the money is not everything, it's not so important if you have a great job with a good atmosphere between your collegues. On one site, she might be right. the ambience in the job is important too, as it makes it easier to work. But, you can reach it in other companies too. On the other site, I am not working for a right ambience, but because I need to earn money. If I can get a great atmosphere besides a great sallary, it's even better. As I go to work to earn money and make my friends outside the Company where I work for, the new conditions made me change my job. She would not have changed. Of course, it's always a personal decision.

I think the environment, career advancement, or even compensation and benefits. I believe it is okay to change jobs to gain exposure when you are younger and then climb the career ladder when we have found the 'one' company suitable to settle.

When you are younger, well said, but when you reach certain age you become more careful.

@Meramar There are so many things that people throw and they could be fixed. It's a shame.

@LadyDuck That's right! Some generations ago, people took care of their items and tried to repair almost everything themselves. I remember my grandfather. He had his own workshop at home, as he loved to repair watches, cars and everything he could. What he didn't know, he tried to learn. Nowadays, it's easier to throw everything away and to buy new staff. The younger people don't worry and don't take time to learn as our ancients did.

And more nowadays with all the expenses we have in a modern life based on consumerism.

Someone told me years ago "There where one door close, another will get open!" Life goes on and we will find more great options. There are just outside and we have to search them as they won't come on their own.

Some people change their jobs often. Some people prefer to stay forever in the workplace and in their first jobs. Sometimes we are not satisfied with our salary or the ambiance of the work place. We change jobs to make us more happy. If you stay forever then you are lucky to find contentment in your first job

That's right, there are so many reasons and different circumstances that we never should criticize anybody for changing or staying. Each person has to decide what's the best for him or herself.
