Oh what joy. Now I get to take a pill for that. I was with the doctor for over and hour discussing everything with him. He told me what can happen and ways to help get my bones stronger. He also wants me to have my thyroid checked and a vitamin D test done. So much for being done with tests. At least I know there are no fractures or anything and we just move on from here.

I'm glad you got the results. I read that it's caused by a lack of vitamin d and calcium. So glad there's no fractures too.

The pills helped my mom improve her bones. I have some bone loss but not osteoporosis yet. I take some pills too, to try to improve the bone loss. I am sure they will help you.

Thank you. Yes, that is what he wanted to tell me. So with that out of the way I will get those other two tests done and see what happens there.

So it's not because of the accident. Is it osteoporosis? It's when bones become brittle and fragile due to loss of tissues as a result of hormonal changes or lack of calcium or vitamin D. It's a very common disease for women as they age. My grandmother had it.

Yes but I never had any problems before the accident. The doctors are telling me that the severe impact that I took just brought all of this out into the open. They have gone back in my files and didn't find anywhere that I was complaining about the pain I am having now. They said that this is very common. They were used to me being very lively and moving around with no problems.

I think it is not osteorosis but osteoporosis, you need calcium and Vitamin D. Most women do not get enough calcium.

@velvet53 It's from Greek, as almost all the medical terms, and it means "porous bones" (osteon=bone).

I'm so sorry, but best to treat it early. No fractures is a good thing. Thyroid checking isn't bad. Had it done just to see why I was so fat. Lol!

You are far from fat young lady. I feel as you do, get it done early and make sure there is nothing else wrong. I do know that my life will be changing starting tomorrow. I could of started today but by the time I got home I had to digest everything they told me and I figured it was better to wait for morning to start on things.
