Day 22
Isaiah 25
25:1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
2 For thou hast made of a city a heap; of a defensed city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swims spreads forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.
When you come through something terrible, and everything is now good, you want to celebrate with all your friends, especially those who knew your circumstances, because their thoughts and prayers were sent heavenward for you.
God is celebrating his victory over Satan. He told Isaiah that he would destroy all sadness. Nobody would display faces of gloom any longer. H would wipe all tears from peoples’ faces, and take their reproach from them. It would be a day of rejoicing because all those who came against him and his people would be gone from the face of the earth.
It isn’t the first time God is celebrating. The day Jesus was born, he sent angels to announce his birth to shepherds on a hillside tending sheep. He put a special star in the sky so wise men would see it and know the reason for it was that he had sent a Savior to redeem his people from sin, the sin Satan caused in the Garden of Eden. This final celebration will be when Satan is sent to the Lake of Fire and Brimstone and will never again deceive the nations.
Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (KJV)
Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? And whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
God is always ready to rejoice over his children. He is ready to go to battle for his children against all those who did them harm.
Zephaniah 3:16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halts, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, says the LORD.
As Christians, God knows the trouble you go through. He knows what Satan has done to demoralize you and bring shame to you. He knows the depth of your love for him and how much you trust him, and he will make everything right for you, and you will no longer be sad or depressed, because God will take care of everything Satan did and make it right. He will turn your sorrow into dancing, and your sadness into joy.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you that you love me so much that you will make everything right in my life. Everything Satan meant for evil, you will turn to joy. You will destroy everything Satan did, and you will cast him into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone for eternity. I give you praise, Father, for you are holy and righteous. Thank you for rejoicing over me with singing, and turning my sorrow into joy. Let your love for me be on display for the world to see. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
