I´ll cook abalone tomorrow.

Yesterday, when we went to the seashore, we had tea in a rural tea house. The owner also had empanadas and finally he offered us if we would like to buy abalone. He was selling them a lot more cheaply than what we had to pay at the restaurant. So I bought 2 kilos. Tomorrow I will cook an abalone in a "chupe", a sort of pudding. Probably my cousin will not eat the chupe so we will leave some cooked abalone for him to eat. The other kilo will stay in my aunt´s deep freezer until my next visit. This is an absolute delicacy. Have you ever eaten or/and cooked a very special dish?

I am not sure if I ever tried abalone before. I will have to see if anyplace sells it around where I live.

What is abalone? Is it some kind of shellfish? (I think?)

I've never had abalone. Enjoy the chupe. I've never cooked any kind of delicacy.

@marguicha It's an exotic fish isn't it? So it would be expensive.

I did eat abalone plenty of times as a child, but I didn't really appreciate the dish then. (Or perhaps the chef didn't do the dish too good? )

@marguicha I did hear about the restriction in collecting them in some cities a few decades ago. They have become more expensive. (They used to be expensive anyway, but we as teenagers, searched for them ourselves then.)

Here the abalone is regarded to be one of the expensive seafood. I don't really know how to make it. It is a pressure for me to cook something expensive and it will be a big waste if my cooking is failure My mom can handle it anyway

Not in a long time something like ten months back. Meat and fish are almost a luxury for a lot of us now. Empanada Milanesa is my most favourite meal when its made and donw properly. Glad you had a good time.
