Yesterday, when we went to the seashore, we had tea in a rural tea house. The owner also had empanadas and finally he offered us if we would like to buy abalone.
He was selling them a lot more cheaply than what we had to pay at the restaurant. So I bought 2 kilos.
Tomorrow I will cook an abalone in a "chupe", a sort of pudding. Probably my cousin will not eat the chupe so we will leave some cooked abalone for him to eat.
The other kilo will stay in my aunt´s deep freezer until my next visit.
This is an absolute delicacy. Have you ever eaten or/and cooked a very special dish?

I am not sure if I ever tried abalone before. I will have to see if anyplace sells it around where I live.

@marguicha It's an exotic fish isn't it? So it would be expensive.

@marguicha I did hear about the restriction in collecting them in some cities a few decades ago. They have become more expensive. (They used to be expensive anyway, but we as teenagers, searched for them ourselves then.)

Not in a long time something like ten months back.
Meat and fish are almost a luxury for a lot of us now.
Empanada Milanesa is my most favourite meal when its made and donw properly.
Glad you had a good time.
