I am referring to our colleague who is the self-appointed clinical coordinator, the patronizing, and the know-it-all female instructor. We were 3 CI’s who critiqued the level 4 nursing students’ case colloquium this morning. The topics we discussed were about the patronizing clinical instructor and all of her loopholes in and out of the clinical area. She considers our school to be her priority, but when our dean told her to have the Operating Room area for level 4 students; she refused and reasoned out that she has students for OR from another college of Nursing. I refer her (Miss DLM) to a colleague Miss CC as her ‘best friend’; Miss CC refers the CI to me as ‘my BFF’; another CI, Miss FCT, calls her “sisteraka”, and the other colleague, Miss AUA, calls her “sisi” (it should be CC for clinical coordinator but ‘sisi’ in Filipino language is repentance). We all have the perception that Miss DLM’s brain got shaken when she met an accident last November 12, 2015. Surprisingly, on my birthday she had the vehicular accident. We are trying to be lenient with her but she is beginning to have the superiority complex. She is the talk of the (nursing instructors) town, and I think she knows it but she does not care. She cannot manipulate me because I can block her actions. I hope my other colleagues will not be manipulated by this patronizing CI.

Difficult isn't it, when you have to work full time with someone you don't get along well.

@ridingbet (If she is working part-time like you, why did she try to pull rank on you? She has no right, correct?)

It is very unpleasant to work with people like this. I am glad you are strong enough not to be manipulated.

i think these people are insecure and they may be attention seekers as well. the moment i saw her true personality, my enthusiasm to be her friend waned.

Good she can not manipulate you, my friend. I hope your other colleagues will not allow it either. I don't like people that have a superiority complex.

@bluesa indeed, we should never be manipulated, that is why we have to have that defense mechanism when these people cause us ire.

all of us part-time CI's are already against her attitude, even her students complain about her. she is the colleague who pinches the arms of her students when they do not know the answers to the questions she ask during bedside conferences.
