Muddy boots and dogs

On our way back to Ireland from France, we had to go via England and Wales and spent a few hours in Fishguard, Wales, waiting for the midnight ferry. There is a lovely little harbour there and I took a few photos of bits and pieces, one of which was this sign outside a local pub. Muddy boots and dogs are welcome. I think I would like this pub. Wouldn’t you?

That sign does make the place very inviting. I think it's a place that I'd stop in and feel comfortable

I've also seen signs saying 'please wipe your boots' which isn't quite so inviting.

Mussels and fries were available everywhere in France. It seemed to be the 'in' dish.

@JudyEv This is what I thought, so you do not care if a wet dog comes inside and spray you.

In that particular area it was almost impossible not to get muddy boots.

In that immediate area, it would be difficult not to have muddy boots.

I'd feel pretty comfortable before I even got in the door with a notice like that.

Yes, I could hang out in that bar. I would even go walk through mud if I had to!

You're more likely to see 'please wipe your feet' aren't you but there was so much mud and slush in this area, nearly everyone was wearing wellingtons.

There were so many dogs there being taken for walks. We saw dozens of dogs everywhere we went really.
