The Training Was Not At All Boring

The officers and supervisors of our company and affiliates had our two-day training on Management and Leadership from Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 12-13. Before the training started we had to write our expectations from our speaker. I wrote " not boring ". And indeed it wasn't boring at all. Every now and then she would sing if we are alive and we would sing back that we are alive. She also would let us do a Brain gym, wherein one is we count 10-1, with corresponding actions while we count and it was in a fast manner. Hmm, my brain is still sharp because I was able to do the action and counted well. I super liked the training and the trainor. I gave her a 10, in my evaluation. Have you ever been in a training wherein you like it so much?

She actually made sure of that before she began the training. We had brain gyms and that really made us all awake all the time. Besides, the topic was so interesting. It tackles how your relationship with your employees or staff affects your management's success.

@SIMPLYD This kind of brain training (counting backward while doing other actions) are the tests performed in the geriatric wards to keep the patients alert.

the training topic was really good, most of our training programmes are of long duration and so all parts are not fun. But it is certainly nice to meet and interact with teachers from other institutions.

Indeed, a nice seminar actually depends on the topics to be discussed. Of course, it is also a must that the trainer has a good sense of humor and knows when to inject some activities like "brain gym" as our trainer would do once in a while. So, you are a teacher?

Have you attended some not boring seminars. Sometimes, seminars can be so boring specially when their topic is something that is not relateable to your life.

Yes, that always happens now to seminars or trainings we have to attend. That's one way, the speaker will know if she has to improve her speaking capacity and the way she/he delivers herself. Yes, I am in my stilletos. It just so happens that my co-officers at the back were all above the 5'6 height.

Indeed, some seminars are not much to our liking. If they are technical, I get bored. But this one is interesting because it's how we should manage people. From this training, i learned that work is 80% relational and 20% technical.

Oh yes I did and I was the speaker's favorite as well. He is the President of Philippine Association of Real Estate Board. We had a very engaging talk even though there were a lot of participants in that seminar. I liked him a lot because of his sense of humor and I was very interested in his discussion about digital marketing. He asked for my business card after his talk and he gave me his too. He told me to contact him whenever I need help about something.

Wow, that is nice, Toni. Actually, the speaker can tell who amongst the participants is really interested and attentive. The participant can answer what he would ask pertaining to the discussion. Besides, throwing a question at him can also indicate the eagerness of the participants to learn of what is being discussed. You really are good in your business, Toni , as well as how to keep it more profitable and keep growing. Hey, that' a nice new profile picture of yours.

I'm glad you enjoyed your training. I've been to so many over the course of my career, and most used games and small group discussions to liven things up.

Actually, in our lifetime while working, pieces of training are indeed necessary to either add-up to the workers' knowledge on their work or to re-orient the workers again so they can be updated also with the new methodology in working. These can be boring sometimes, so the trainer should really have the knowledge and personality to implement some games to awaken the already sleepy participants.

Hey, where have you been? I haven't seen you around for a long time. I can relate because I was also a long time banker. In fact, before I went to the branch (in our province), I was first trained along with the new New Accounts clerks to a personality development seminar. It was about how to make yourself presentable, how to put on make-up, how to stand with poise while waiting for a jeepney and a lot more. It was something that I enjoyed a lot.

Did you work for a company? Usually, big companies give training and seminars to their officers and even to their rank and file employees.
