First time thing with Western Union

There is a branch nearby where I use to pay for every utility bill. It was originally meant for sending money from one branch to another. But over time it also became a payment center.
All I do over there is pay something or re-load my phone. Until today I sent money to my brother and he's going to the province to renew his passport.
After that I got curious about this prepaid / debit card of theirs so I purchased one. It will take a month to process it.
My bank is a little bit far maybe with this one I can save what ever cents I have.

Yes we use Western Union, but its $15 to send money, that is very expensive.

It is indeed very expensive @andriaperry. If there is another payment center or money sending center over here, I would try an alternative.

@YrNemo I didn't have any experience of receiving an email coming from western union. Perhaps I will be cautioned on what I check on my email.

@cacay1 I am not too sure if the bad people choose Western Union as a way to get people's money, perhaps that bank itself is not too bad? I never know, but any strange mail, emails asking us to transfer money to Western Union for this or that service, we all become alerted right at once.

Good idea.
Western Union has included a lot of other services in their branches. They have become a one-stop shop for financial needs.

Hello @allen0187 That's true, I've only heard of western union as a sending money center. But this company is from the US and it goes way back.

@Letranknight2015 I wonder how it works, becasue w credit card means you have no money but you have a pruchasiñg power given by the credit company. But with the debit card you have a savings accouñt with money where it is automatically debited to pay for your purchase.

It was their partnership with mastercard and it's some sort of debit card @SIMPLYD

Sounds reasonable. We all have to do what we can to save some money. Glad it is working better for you.

I wonder what that prepaid card you are referring to. Maybe we can use it through Paypal.

A long time ago I had to use Western Union, but now with many different options available I will not use them. If I can use Paypal, that is easiest.

Hello @JustBhem The branch here also has utility payment center function even if there's a bayad center nearby. Perhaps if you have a near Western branch you can ask them.

Same here @YesWay but this is one branch that I usually do other transactions other than sending money, which I normally don't do.

My friend sent me money by Western Union few times before. I think today the online money transfer is much more convenient and we don't have to use Western Union. Its charge is high. And I have to go to the post office or the bank to get my money. It is not convenient.
