My oldest son knows that I love trivia and odd facts, so he sent me an e-mail with a few things he had found.
I’m going to do some further research on them but I thought I would see first, if any of you have heard about any of these incidents.
This one is really strange. Supposedly President George Washington ordered that his six white horses had their teeth brushed every morning. Remember, he had the wooden false teeth! Maybe that had something to do with it.
This one is even stranger. Frederick the Great of Prussia supposedly ordered his soldiers to sew buttons on the sleeves of their coast. WHY? It was to stop them from wiping their noses on their coat sleeves. Really?
I wonder if this one is TRUE? Supposedly, Paul Newman, one of my favorite actors, burned his tuxedo on his seventy-fifth birthday, saying that he was finished with formality.
How about this one? When they were studying theater at Pasadena Playhouse, two students were voted “least likely to succeed.” Who were they? Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman.
As I said, I’m going to do more research on these odd facts. What do you think? Are they true or not?
I sent him some of MY odd facts. I'll put them in my next post, so you can enjoy them too.
