Unending heartburn

My partner suffers chronic heartburn day in day out. We've plagued the GP and we've tried every over the counter cure, nothing works. Most recently we've tried bicarbonate of soda, kinda makes it worse. Does anyone have a suggestion, open to anything.

Sounds like it is time to see a gastroenterologist. You are having symptoms of acid reflux. Usually it is treated with an acid reducer. You could try an over the counter medicine like Prilosec or Prevacid. Although a doctor would be better able to prescribe the correct amount.

@Ganma7 I also suffer from it! I take my prevacid in the morning and I am fine the rest of the day.

Limit sugar and fat, especially in combination and before bed. Look for papaya tea and/or papaya enzyme tablets in a health food store. Fresh, not canned or tinned pineapple helps me as well.
