What's the World Coming To?

There's been another mass shooting at a concert. This time a country concert at a harvest festival in Las Vegas. Twenty people are dead, over a hundred injured. The gunman apparently shot up the crowd with an automatic weapon. It's a sad state of the world when you can't go to a concert anymore without risking your life. There is so much hate in the world, so many people with mental illnesses who get access to guns and then go on a rampage. (I am assuming whoever the gunman was, was mentally ill; normal people do not kill others.) I don't know what the world is coming to. It did not use to be like this. Seems like mass shootings and other terrorist attacks are becoming the new "normal." Meanwhile the threat of nuclear war looms over our heads, people are suffering from natural disasters, and still others live in a war zone where the war never ends. Bombs dropping on their communities is their "normal." It just breaks my heart that the world is this way, that life is this way. We used to talk about the possibility of world peace when I was growing up, now it seems like no one talks about that or believes it's possible anymore. Maybe we were delusional to ever believe in it.
