This post was inspired by @FourWalls and the post that was recently written by this writer. Well, you all know me and of course, I had an opinion that made me write/type this post. I'm sure every one has heard/read about NFL players "taking a knee" at a football game when the National Anthem was playing. Now, some say/have written that they were doing as Kaepernick when he "took a knee" at a football game, because he was expressing his right to freedom. I've also read t/heard that theywere protesting police brutality against African Americans. I've also read/heard that they were protesting Trump. However, in my reading it states in the NFL rules on page A62-63 that: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.” Now, I worked with mentally challenged adults and if a person hit you, scratch you or whatever you couldn't sue this person because possible abuse from the clients was in your job description. So, knowing this when you take the job you were forewarned. So, as in the case of the NFL players "taking a knee" they knew when they took the position that you had to stand during the National anthem. So why didn't they follow the NFL's rules? ~Peace~ source for NFL rules https://fellowshipoftheminds.com/2017/09/26/nfl-rules-require-players-to-stand-for-national-anthem-ratings-drop/

Why are they refusing to stand for the National Anthem? Because they think that this country, in which they make millions for playing a game, is unfair. They think there's racial prejudice while they play in a league that's 74% African-American. And I'll say this as a veteran: they sit/kneel because they have a constitutionally-guaranteed right to do so. But with that right comes the responsibility to accept the consequences for one's actions. And if they find themselves out of a job because no one's watching their games anymore, they have no one to blame but themselves.

It is more complex than that. This is not in the NFL rulebook, which is the only one that can be invoked to sanction players, but in the game operations manual that concerns only clubs and is supposed to be used to protect the players.
