Cary tries to do-it-yourself his temperature...

So this morning Dearra called and said Cary wasn't feeling well and I should call the school. So I did, and then got in touch with him to see what was wrong. He said he thought he had a fever, so I asked him if he knew how to take his temperature. He didn't, so I said I'd show him when I got home. A little later, I got a text saying he had found the kitchen thermometer, and it said his temperature was 80. Picked myself off the floor and told him he couldn't use the meat thermometer, but there was a digital thermometer in my bathroom drawer. He came back a bit later and said it said 100. Told him to take a couple of aspirin...
Anybody else have children who try to creatively do-it-yourself something?

Hey! Where you been?!? Haven't seen you here in ages, and you're the one responsible for me coming back.
Funny story about using the meat thermometer. Don't those things have a sharp point on them so they can be stuck into the meat? I guess he didn't hurt himself or you'd be telling us about that, too.

@dawnald Getting older, not much wiser. Been hobbling along the past few days... left knee complaining about an old injury.

Love that he tried to do it himself. It also shows that he has not had a temperature very often, or was in the kitchen when he did.

Many times I feel that only children are creative. As we get older, many times we become boring adults
