Yesterday night, my son and I saw a cockroach on the living room curtain. For your info, I have a cockroach phobia, I hate them and wanted to kill them yet I am afraid of them.
When my son saw my reaction, ( I freak out, jumped onto the chair ), he was afraid too. I Know it was my fault, I should had shown him my bravery as a mom. So, I got a bundle of old newspaper, wrapped into hortizontal length like a bat, a fly sweater and a hanger. My son wanted to help me to kill the darn cockroach too. So we worked together to kill it.
He threw the hanger at the cockroach that flew to the floor. I jumped again. So did my son. Then I quickly use the newspaper to hit the pest 10x until it didn't move. My son helped me to hit it with the fly sweater.
Finally that darn cockroach didn't move. We were happy we made the killing. Both of us were sweating after the ordeal.
Have you ever shown your bravery in front of your child even though you have the phobia?

Not only to my son but to my friends as well. When I sense that they are afraid of the same thing as I am, I try to stay calm and be brave, or else we would all be scared and won't be thinking right.
So they always thought I'm the brave one in the group when the truth is, I'm not.

@peachpurple Yeah I just think that when everybody's weak, one has to remain strong or we'd all collapsed.
