How Far Would You Protect?

If someone broke into your house in the middle of the night, what force, if any would you use?

For us..if someone breaks in, according to the law you have the right to protect yourself..I don't know that I would go so far as to injure any one mortally; I would give them a good run for their money though.

Let's put it this way...I sleep with a metal baseball bat beside my bed. And if anyone hears anything in the house, it is me. LOL How far would I go? One solid whack that the intruder is on the floor. Handcuffs (don't ask LOL) and a cell phone to call the cops, would just about do it!
