Charles Schulz's Former Home Burned Down

I am so saddened to hear that Peanuts' creator Charles Schulz's home was lost to one of the many fires burning in California. His widow, who still lived there, managed to get to safety, but the home burned to the ground and all the memorabilia inside has been destroyed. Fortunately his original drawings are safe in the Charles Schulz Museum, which hasn't been effected by the fire. I hope it stays that way. I am a huge Peanuts fan and it makes me feel sick to my stomach thinking that all his original artwork may be in danger of being lost.
California’s deadly wildfires have claimed the home of ‘Peanuts’ creator Charles Schulz but his widow has escaped the flames.

I have been to the museum. Thank goodness it wasn't effected. It's a good one.

@Srbageldog , this is just bad news. If you are interested in looking at this I have watched a video provided by CNN in a link I want to share here:
More than a dozen wildfires are scorching Northern California, aided by low humidity and high winds. Here are some eye-popping numbers that tell the scope of the tragedy.

Oh no! I had forgotten that his ice rink was somewhere there - but how sad that his house burned down. Thank goodness his widow got out in time. Eek - I wonder how much and what kind of memorabilia there was.

To my understanding, most of his memorabilia (including original artwork) is kept at the Charles Schulz Museum, which has not (yet) been effected by the fire. Hopefully no damage will come to it. Still -- what a loss. I wonder what was kept in the home too. I am glad his widow is safe, but how heartbreaking for her. I suppose it would be like losing him all over again.

Homes lost, but what bothers me most are the lives that have been lost.

Yes, there have been a total of at least 32 lives lost last I heard, with hundred of people still unaccounted for.

@ElusiveButterfly I hope so too. I just watched a video taken by a drone over Santa Rosa...it is literally a wasteland. Everything has been incinerated. At least in that neighborhood.

If you look at the videos of the burned down neighborhoods in Santa Rosa, it is literally a wasteland. I can't imagine what they are going through.

His creations will live on in my heart and those of my friends and family who all enjoyed watching Snoopy and Charlie Brown movies as well as Peanuts in the local Dallas Morning News papers. Yes, it had to be a terrible thing for this fire to do such destruction.

look at this article from The Dallas Morning News:
A Charlie Brown Christmas -- the classic TV special about childhood innocence and the true meaning of the holidays -- has landed Texas school...

@Srbageldog , I can relate. I drew some pictures using a pencil on regular paper when I was just a kid myself. I grew up with this icon of human compassion and morality from both the tv cartoons and the news paper. I even owned a dog that was just like Snoopy. He had a dog house that looked exactly the same and he never slept inside it. Only just outside. Pepper dog was my dog's name, God rest his soul.

@lookatdesktop Charles Schulz is a good person to look up to, and his comics have many life lessons we all can learn from. That is cute that you had a dog like Snoopy and that he had a dog house just like Snoopy's that he wouldn't sleep in. Did he also have a little yellow birdie friend who followed him around?

You are right. Most of his collection is in a museum anyway.
