What are things we cannot discuss in Public anymore? Social issues which lead to divisiveness and strong argument.
I have a couple of off limits topics to start the discussion. In my state of New Jersey (U.S), there is strong opinion against public pensions and benefits for teachers, police, and other state workers.
Another issue which causes strong disagreement is expressing your opinion about radical islamic terrorism.
What can you think of to add to this list?

@dgobucks226 I have seen women doing this in the United States, it's not something I had ever seen in Europe.

@LadyDuck Yes, I remember when I first saw someone doing that. I guess it could be frowned upon in public.

Just about anything liberal vs conservative ideologies are now leading to violence.

Throughout history there have always been divergent opinions on issues. As we know, this leads to groups being formed whether political parties, hate groups or citizens coming together to protest something they feel is unjust.

Sports arguments here from my experience are heated, but never to the point of nastiness like other topics. Disagreements are very common in sports and most topics can be discussed in a reasonable manner. One exception is the athletes kneeling during the National Anthem. You are right about religion and politics "C", and of course your history. But I image past history of many countries can be a taboo topic. Definitely in the U.S. with race relations.

When I hear of people destroying the Manger scenes displayed at Churches it is scary to say Merry Christmas. I am wondering why this happened and what happened to tolerance? We had the Baby Jesus stolen from our Church's display. Terrible!

Race and politics might not be taboo, but maybe they should be. So much out and out hatred.

I think race and politics are just volatile topics. But I also believe in one's right to express their thoughts on this site. Topics should not be eliminated. I guess a little bit of discretion to foster discussion and not argument when posting these topics would be a better way to do it.

Everything creates a level of disagreement, in some individuals. They are always looking for something to be negative about!

@dgobucks226 Yes, I have witnessed that negative behavior, different times. It's OK to have a different opinion, but to verbally attack another member or to be cruel and mean, is always wrong!

There are people on this site that bash others opinions sometimes in a very mean and negative way. Disagree yes, but be civil about it.

Political issues send this entire site, into a confrontational, whirl wind:( The president? How he handles matter? Please, don't bring it up! Who stands in line, for the next Presidential election?
Please, don't mention this, ever!

I avoid any political posts now! With this political climate, discussion posts about what is right or wrong politically will solve nothing.
It just fosters angry comments not useful opinions. Although the post might circulate a lot of responses, the negativity it creates on the site is not worth the income one might earn. I wish their were no political posts on here, but like TV you can always change the channel to a different post
