In one of my earlier posts I had written about a pack of street dogs whose barking woke me up in the night.
The responses made me realise they are quite a common occurrence in other places too.Anyway, have sort of used to the sound and no longer get up to check whats the matter.
Yesterday morning while looking out of my bedroom window, what did I see?The entire pack lying in the back court yard of the neighbouring house. For some reason the house owner who lives elsewhere does not rent out this place except a small portion ,to a person living alone. The tenant too seems to be mostly away.
While the rest of us had to go out into the busy day the dogs visit slumberland. And this was the ideal getaway spot for the dogs to catch up on their sleep and renew their energy for their nightly wanderings.
And what did I do? I just let them lie...thats what the saying says after all

Hahaha. Maybe because they see something and smell something.
Every time my neighbor's dog barks at night, it means they see people which is not like ours.

I imagine even if you'd wanted to since both the landlord and tenant are gone most of the time, there'd be one one to tell of those dogs being squatters. Hmm, I wonder whether that's where that term originated? Probably not as it's an old term.
Here in Michigan and probably other places too, it's not only lone dogs that howl through the night but those that the owners tend to keep outside more than inside. Or even inside dogs that need to go do their duty in the middle of the night. None realize they should use their 'inside voices', lol.
