Did you know that Jeepneys was an upgrade from the US military jeep? we bought those after world war II and then turn the back side to accommodate more passengers.
But over the years, the jeepney had become obsolete and people experience accidents and crimes over this thing.
Now they tried to make a new kind of transport that will phase out this vehicle. But then I wonder, why just make a brand new jeepney, specially if they want to hold on to traditional transport.
The one they are proposing now is no different from a mini bus.
Unfortunately, poor drivers can't pay and doesn't want the jeep phase out which is why they are now on strike.
The first Philippine Auto Parts Expo was held last week on October 12 and 13 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City, and although the event was held ... The post These Are the Modern Jeepneys You’ll Be Riding In Soon appeared first on Carmud

the jeepney actually originated here in our country. it is the famous SARAO that manufactured the mode of transportation. the one in the picture here is a mini-bus. i doubt if the small-time jeepney owners will be able to purchase this latest model of jeepney.

Hello @ridingbet but the jeep originated from the US, we just reshape the whole thing into carrying passengers until time goes the back side grew bigger.

@Letranknight2015 still, the jeepney is a Filipino way of mode of transport, and the horse in front should not be removed from the history of transportation.

Thanks for the informative post. Like when you tell what is happening in your country. I get what you are saying. I heard there was a pretty big issue over this, but did not get clear picture until now. Thanks bud, gives perspective.

Hello @crossbones27 it's an insane idiotic engineering since it doesn't tell about safety and integrity of the vehicle. For me, it's probably just more on profiting from the new transport vehicles.

@Letranknight2015 Yeah, usually the way it goes. It all gets disturbing when you follow along enough. Always profits before people, in most cases anyway. Hope for the best though and doing good by staying on top of what concerns you.

@crossbones27 Not really just my concern, but every one else is as well. But for me, I don't commute the way I used to.

@Letranknight2015 Because Jeepneys are one of Filipinos original transportation and they are making it away. They can still remodel it but I hope the front style will still be maintained

That is not jitneys at all. Why not allow this jitney and let also this modern transpo to run in the roads? But don't let new one be registered in LTO. These jeepneys gets old until they just become as vintage collector's item

Hello @ilocosboy I'm sure they could do better than that, a jeepney with an aircondition of it's own would suffice. They should have taken a model from the AC jeepneys in makati.

It is time to modify our modes of transportation here in the country. The benefits far exceed the disadvantages.

@Letranknight2015 I'm talking about the jeepneys, buses, ferries, and trains.
We should look into getting more mass transport like buses and trains instead of jeepneys. The modern jeepneys with their increased capacity is a good idea.

Yeah that's how the mini buses look like here. But I hardly even see mini buses around here anymore. They were more common before than now.

@Letranknight2015 The mass rapid transit train and monorail are more popular now. Which is why I think mini buses are not around anymore.
