Is freelancing a real job or not?

A regular job is the preference of many people (mainly by the stability factor), but the field of freelance work has been gaining more and more followers.
So, why does this kind of work still suffer so much prejudice / devaluation (financially speaking)?

Freelancing is a good work.If we don't have any other option we can do freelancing.you will get lower salary only. But you can surely pass your time .It Doesn't even come under part-time. If you supposed to do full time freelancing ,you have to work lot. .

well freelancing sure is a job. I mean I was a freelance worker too. I do proofreading for authors, I conduct research studies for student from other countries and so on... yes it pays, but not big time. I guess that's the case why it isn't really applicable for everyone; it pays cheap.

Yes of course we can't rely on freelance jobs, we do earn more even.

Some folks are great at freelancing and are very successful, but it takes hard work and a certain skill set, as well as interest in freelancing. I like doing it on the side for now.

Some people earn bigger than being employed.
