So Sad

While shopping today, I took the opportunity to sit and enjoy the cool breeze blowing on a warm sunny day. Then I heard someone coughing. It was a horrible hacking phlegmy cough and it kept going. There was an elderly, sad looking lady sitting across the road. As I crossed to go to the chemist, I noticed she had a cigarette in one hand and a puffer in the other. Seeing her sitting there looking so forlorn and dejected made me feel so sad.

Oh dear. The dreaded weed strikes again. Come to think of it, the picture you paint could be me in my dotage, with 2 changes: tablet on table, fingers of one hand tapping on the screen, and cup of Earl Grey tea in the other hand, with the odd delicate slurp...

@MsTickle Yes, this scene from a very funny story makes me think of "shlurping" :
Terry Pratchett's "Color of Magic" - Cohen the Barbarian

@pgntwo Very funny. A couple of real characters there. Love the "s()it by the fire granddad".

I would have also felt sad, but if she continues smoking she is surely not going to improve her health.

Oh that's sad. People don't understand some times they have to keep their addiction a side and should not compromise with their health.
