I just read...

...that Saudi Arabia has just given citizenship to a robot. A first in the world.
I loved some years ago the splendid science fiction book "I Robot" by
Isaac Asimov.
Little did I know then that this would come into being during my life time.
I can tell you that I am confused and shocked. I don´t know what to think of this and I will have to think a lot about it before I decide what is my position on this subject.
But I want to share this with you and ask what do you think of it. After all, who would have thought some years ago that we would have friends online.
See you

I am beginning to think that humankind is crazy. Among other things.

I am not too keen on the idea of all that either.
Just supposing the robot is not too friendly?
Has anyone thought of that?

That means replacing human beings. And, what is left for us?

@marguicha
Very grim outlook for us it seems.
I hope they don´t let it get like in the Films.
Because the films are only the films.

@Bluedoll Yes. But whoever goes along, will give too much power either to machines or to those that control them

@marguicha He doesn't care about the citizenship of a robot. He wants to make a news splash to get interest in designing and building robots that will in turn make more money.

This is much more tan using robots to replace manpower. This is accepting that robots are the same as mankind.

People have made the terminator, the matrix and even Machimina movie...But still they don't get it and once we have gone too far then we would make the same fate as those people from the I robot movie. In fact that movie was even close because it was controlled by a huge big head AI.

I cannotunderstand that a robot can have rights when human beings are still fighting for theirs.
