I posted before how my now fiance and i were trying to get a house well with being engaged we put it second but are still looking. The frustrating part is the housing costs are rising but not our pay. The minimum wage here is 9.30 but that doesn't really help. My moms friend has lived in the same 1 bed room apartment for 13 years and they just raised their rent to 1700. But with our minimum wage it's less than 1500 you're earning before taxes get taken out and that's full time. It sucks because so many people I know work full time and still have to move back in with their parents or have a ton of roommates. When Colorado made weed legal so many people moved here and now we have people who work full time that are homeless or families having to live in motels and even that is stopping because motels that are pretty crappy are now charging ridiculous amounts to stay there. It's very irritating. I wish there was a law that cost of living and salary kept up with each other or that apartments and everyone couldn't just raise their prices whenever they feel. Even if you have two people working to pay rent plus eletric and everything else you're barely making it. I hate it.

I know isn''t it awful Cait?
I am one week away from being homeless here on a constant basis..I never know if they are going to raise the rent so high, I won''t be able to make it. $9.30 is a disgrace..how can anyone live on that today?
The prices and rents here in CO are crazy high and makes life unsustainable for people living here.
Since all those who came here that want to get high the places to live and afford have gone now.
Wish you all the best xo

It's horrible. It shouldn't be people scared of ending up homeless or being so close to being homeless all the time. The minimum wage needs to go up and keep up with the living cost. It's ridiculous that people are just money hungry and don't care about all those people who they're screwing. Hope all the best for you

That's unfortunately the case here too. And it doesn't help that the developers keep on building high-end apartments and houses that obviously most people can't afford to rent, let alone buy.

That's true. The bad part is they're not doing it every 2 years, they're doing it every few months and by hundreds not just a little.
