I was once asked, when these superheroes of Marvel and DC comics have been animated into movie action heroes, which one is my favorite?
I was a comics page turner as a child, and definitely, absolutely, a boob tube blob, watching Pop-eye and Olive and Bluto (I thought it was Brutus), Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop, Casper, Hulk, Iron Man, etcetera. Yes, that was also the time of Gigantor, Detective Robot.
Who was my favorite? I loved Hulk. But Thor was my favorite. Why? Because he was a god.
He was the God of Thunder. Mighty Thor.
With a club. And a dog.
That was then.
Thor has reemerged all muscle and heroic. Chris Hemsworth.
He is one of the Avengers these past years, saving Earth and all the nine realms of Norse Mythology.
This week is Ragnarok, literally meaning the final destruction of the world, or the final destiny of the gods.
No. Thor carries no club. He swings a powerful hammer called Mjolinir, meaning lightning, that he can summon anytime he needs it.
Unfortunately, Mjolinir was crushed, by no less than Thor's elder sister, Hela. Shocking, huh, for Thor and mischief brother Loki never knew her.
Black antlers and evil disposition, Hela must be a nick name for Angela, Odin's long lost daughter of a cosmic warrior. Since she is the villain in the movie, she becomes Hela, someone reborn from hell.
Twists and turns, and I wouldn't want to spoil any further, Thor is trapped. However, a hero never gives up. But I would leave you to watch the movie. It is entertainment packed with laughter.
The millennials were tickled. As an oldie like me was, too. Am not much for the electronic punk music, but I was at the edge of my seat, eyes wide open, for every beat.
Oh, Hulk smashed, too.

No denying, Thor is the one.
I loved Mythology, Ilocosboy, Greek, Roman, and Norse. Must I include Philippine Myth? Of course. Bathala, Malakas at Maganda. Lam-ang (I laughed at his adventures) (and you should be proud of him).
I am just a forever story loving creature. Thor did amaze me. Hercules, too. Ha ha

When I was teenager and studying I also love to read, and I can say I have read the adventures of Bernardo Carpio, Biag ni Lam-ang, Tugot by F. Sionil Jose, and so with Florante and Laura.

@ilocosboy I love those folk tales. F. Sionol Jose's Tugot, first time I've heard of it. What is it about?
Suffice it to say I am not much of a Sionil Jose fan. Sorry. Difficult reading.

The Marvel and DC Comics were rival publishers of the 60's, 70's and 80's, I suppose. The cartoon animations of Superman and Batman were already on television in the 70's. Superman the movie also came out late 70's. Batman series followed. The X-Men movie came out early 90's. And now, the comics have lived in the millennium.
I am just enjoying the movie interpretations.

@lady1993 I prefer the Wakasan. Love stories are my cup of tea. I was amazed at the drawings, too. Somehow, my standard of the handsome and the beautiful was influenced by the Komiks. Ha ha
