Diary Saturday 28th October 2017 The day the clocks go back an hour in the UK (strictly the early hours of Sunday morning but generally easier to change the timers before going to bed). Much of the day involved writing, preparing the quiz I’m presenting on Friday, job searching and sending out some basic snail mail. Diary Sunday 29th And Monday 30th October 2017 Much as Saturday with the addition of a quick library visit. Tuesday 31st October 2017 – Halloween A quiet Halloween for me, in that I didn’t dress up or go to any pubs or parties for it. I took part in a university volunteers workshop brushing up on communication skills specifically for a student class I’m helping out with on Monday. I missed the community centre cheap food collection service today, but a friend on the course managed to get me some food from another centre offering a similar service. The best part of today was that I got paid my monthly welfare payment. I celebrated by going to see the new Thor Ragnarok movie, reviewed in a separate article. Wednesday 1st November 2017 The start of a new month, and the day many of my bills are paid by direct bank transfer. I went to the job club at the community centre for a few hours to update my current job searching logs. That’s all folks. Arthur Chappell
