I find it kind of weird for kids to have social accounts like facebook. It's my nephew's 8th birthday today and i saw his mom greeted him and tagged him. So i stalked his account
and just saw a bunch of his mom's posts just tagging his son. I wonder what the purpose is, maybe like an online album?
Anyway, when i have a kid in the future, i would want him or her to just enjoybeing a kid and playing outdoors, not relying too much on social sites and online games. But that's just me.

There's nothing weong with it, in my opinion, as long as the kids not spending all their time on it, being monitored by a parent, and only has family on it.

There has to be moderation and supervision with it. My children dont have Facebook accounts and they won't until they are much older.

Sites have age requirements for a reason and it is to protect kids from sick sick people. It is all the parent's decision as long as they are watching what is happening on their accounts, but it is still dangerous. give the kid neopets, that is all a kid needs haha

@lady1993 It is a little website where a kid can take care of a digital pet and play games haha

I think it depends on each kid and their own personality and maturity.

I don't see it as a problem as long as their is a balance. Kids do need to get outside and play and should be encouraged to do so.

@lady1993 that is not good. They should be encouraged to do other things away from the devices.

My son had a social media account including facebook and twitter when he was 7 years old and that's because he was into online gaming and there's an added bonus points whenever he shares those games on his social media account.
