About that restaurant

Friday night we were going to try a new restaurant, and we did. They had advertised Prime Rib for a really good price, and that is why we went, but we did not order it. Hubby often says things like "If you go to a seafood restaurant, why would you order a hamburger" and he said it Friday night. The restaurant we went to was a small family style Mexican restaurant and bakery. Very clean, tidy and they had an excellent menu. He even passed up on the prime rib to have chile rellenos. I had a large tostada called the Monterrey. We may go order prime rib there sometime, but we enjoyed the Mexican food a lot. They are not full of little fake authentic decor, and they do not pretend to be something they are not. It was fresh food, not fast food. Prepared when we ordered it. This is now going to be a regular place we dine.

This is a place we will definitely go back to as we do a lot of our grocery shopping in this town.

Yes, it is on the corner of a block downtown. Lots to see and not the type of place that tries to rush you on out the door.

It is really nice when we find good Mexican restaurants that are not copy cat foods.

We had a small restaurant in our town, just like that one. Their food was all freshly made, not frozen meat or pre-made side dishes. It was great, but they ended up closing!

That is sad. Sometimes the best ones do close.

@kobesbuddy I know. That is because people do not really have to think about their meal there.

@GardenGerty The junk food restaurants stay open, for years!

I would have not ordered a prime rib either, it's not a Mexican dish.

Exactly, although a little old man came in after us and ordered it. I think it is a nice place for some of the people who mostly live near the downtown to get a good meal. However, my meal got me more of the vegetables that I need to eat.
