Socks.

Our mop with the socks

The rains have stopped as of this moment but our electric water pump is still working. It was switched on the whole night and it had an hour off at 8:30AM but it is on again. The flood water in the basement is more than a foot high now. Our floors are kept dry except for some moist areas. The rug of the mop is now soaked so my sister made this makeshift rug. Yes, those old and worn out rugs are now attached to the mop. Can you share some more uses of worn out socks?

your socks are colorful. My son's socks are plain white, for school but always mix match the size and patterns

@peachpurple of course, that is the ideal uniform of a nurse--- white blouse, white skirt or white pants, white socks, and white shoes.

the tools in the sock
my lady, there are yet other uses of worn-out socks. we can use them also to keep car tools. actually, the tools of our car are kept in a worn-out grey sock.

Back when I was in grade school, I remember our helper using our old socks as shoe shine.

oh yes, i also used our very old worn-out socks- those with holes or garters that were loose already. i used these as the "pamunas ng biton" on my black shoes.

I usually throw the worn out socks. Sometimes I cut the part of the foot and keep the rest to use to clean small surfaces.

@ridingbet Yes, if the socks are pure cotton I use them to dust, if they are mixed with synthetic fibers I throw.

oh, so the tip part can be worn as a glove to wipe off dust in small and unreachable corners where only the hand can reach.

I sometimes use them to polish wooden surfaces. I hope the rain is done for now.

the cloth of the sock can clean moisture. yes, the rains have stopped now, although yesterday, when we had 16 hours of power blackout, there were some drizzles still.

@allen0187 it was a ridiculous use of that sock to be a casing of my phone. now, that sock is to clean my mirrors; i just insert my hand in to the opening and wipe my mirrors off the dust and dirt.

i actually hand-stitched a grey sock to make a mobile phone case. it was soft so my phone was secured. the disadvantage though was i had to remove it slowly because the inner part of the tip of the sock will also go out with the phone.

I like repurposing stuff but not sure I would repurpose worn out socks for anything. I cut out worn out clothes to be used as rags, but I usually throw away worn out socks.

actually, these worn out socks are the socks of my late father. we did not give them away for others to wear, so they were made as the cloth for the mop.

my sister also tied or woven some more socks and these are to wipe out and off any fluids that are scattered on the floor of our house.
