Well, I suppose it's really over. DANG IT! Early this mornin the heater kicked on at least twice. 2 weeks ago I set the thermostat to 61 just in case it got really cold, looks like it did. I just ain't ready for the cold. I sure do hope the lizards made themselves a really good home .... if they grew big enough they'll eat them thar mice, Boobear was playin with one yesterday and try as I might I just couldn't get hold of the stupid thing. Ok, I agree mice are cute but not if they're in MY HOUSE. Boobear didn't kill it and now it's at large in here somewhere. Dadblastit!!! Looks like it's time to set out the cottonballs soaked in peppermint oil. What do you do to keep them meeses out?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Disclaimer: I misspell words on purpose for flare.

I have never had a problem with mice. So far I have not seen a single one during my 20 years in this house, although they would not bother me anyway. Disclaimer: No keyboard keys were harmed during the typing of this comment.

@rebelann Funny? Is that funny as in humorous or funny as in strange?

The house we live in seems to have a red carpet for mice. At the moment we seem to be mouse free. Unfortunately this fall we also has a more dreaded unwelcome guest...a rat...it seems to have realized it wasn't welcome.

I've never seen a wild rat and I don't think I'd want to. I've heard they are aggressive, is that true?

@rebelann I didn't hang around to find out. We set traps...it left a foot behind....no more evidence if the critter. I think it took the hint.

Fortunately, I live in a city. Today I yelled that there was a huge beast at the door. It was a roach. I don´t like them but it is the worst we have here.

@rebelann I don´t like mice. And I have small lizards in my terrace, but I don´t mind them.

I like mice only if they are outside @marguicha I hope the lizards are big enough now to eat them.

I've been fortunate that I haven't had roaches inside the house, I think the lizards and mice eat them before they have a chance to get inside.

I can't keep the little ones totally out. Its not nice truth but its truth. From time to time the felines do help with the issue, though.

@rebelann Kind of. I do find parts out on the property from time to time. Sonny James big guy has proved himself to be more of a mouser than I'd ever dreamed of.

In the garage my husband sets traps and the cat catches them now and then. So far they haven't got in the house. What does the peppermint oil do?

If it's strong enough it will repel mice and some bugs, that's what the website I was on claimed. I grow peppermint outside and it's the only plant that doesn't have a lot of pests eating it.

Lizards big enough to eat a mice? Where do you live again? I will ne sure to strike that place out of my "places to visit" list. ...if ever. Mice are so not cute. They jump, trick and trip me. No way they are cute. They are cunning little evil things.

Mice aren't that big really and some of the lizards get up to about 6 inches or so and can eat the smaller ones. The creature that scares me the most are the centipedes.
