Edward Jenner

I just recently came across an article that talks about TWD character dr. Edward Jenner. In the show, he was a scientist at the CDC where Rick and his group took refuge to find answers about the virus outbreake that killed more than half of the human population.
The article reveals that this is also the name of the famous British scientist who was the pioneer of the smallpox vaccines. He helped save more lives than any other human in history.
Which brought me to an odd comparison between a scientist who actually saved lives and a one who killed innocent people by convincing them that this is the only way out.
Have you ever heard of this British scientist?

I have heard plenty about Jenner. I was taught about him at school and had more than my share of science at home as my father was a scientist.
