hello, it is that time of the year again where some carolers go to out house and sing Christmas songs, even though it's still November. So we usually just ignore them, since before some of them complain because we give so little, or some of them come back again and again and again

Caroling is already suppose to be banned especially for children in Metro Manila. Yes you give one and they will report to the other kids they were given and before you know it a lot would keep coming back and back for more coins I usually turn off all our outside light if I plan to hide

@tzwrites sometimes the street kids could be real pesky lol! I pity them but they could be so rude sometimes, you give them something and if they are not contented they would sing you something like in Pilipino " you are a cheapskate " and they would run some are lookouts, if there's nobody home, they would enter your property. I mostly entertain only carolers who give us advance notice like church members or neighborhood kids that I know, although I can't help also giving to street children even if it's suppose to be banned now.

It sounds like Halloween in America...many people hide from trick or treaters.

ha ha, its just November and some people are already into caroling. Sometimes you have to hide because some people complain of too little amount given to them.

That's rude of them to complain...after they are the ones annoying you.

I remember being a caroler but my friends do that within the village and on December time so we can get a lot of gifts from neighbors

The carolers I've experienced didn't do it for money.

We do not have Christmas carolers coming to the houses here. We are very lucky.

@lady1993 No, at least... not in this building. It's "secured" as they call it - so they would have to ring the buzzer to me let in. I think there is Christmas music in one of the community rooms - but a person doesn't need to go to it so is easily avoided :-)

Well, I hope there won't be any of that this year. Not to mention my dog will be on the front if they tried to sing over the gate.

I know the feeling. They are carolers who will keep coming back every night and it's kind of annoying sometimes. We give what can we give but having the same faces every night is not okay for me.
