Favorite Side Projects #8 - The Glove

Many musicians, at some point in the course of their career, start a second band, usually as a means of releasing music that doesn't fit what they do in their real band. Hence, this series of my favorite side projects. We are at #8: The Glove.
The Glove was a one-off side project formed by Cure vocalist/guitarist/leader Robert Smith and Siouxsie and the Banshees bassist Steven Severin, in 1983. They released one album, Blue Sunshine, and a couple singles.
(Fun Fact: The band was named after the giant flying glove in The Beatles' movie, Yellow Submarine.)
The vocals on Blue Sunshine were performed by Jeanette Landray, a former member of a dance troupe, Zoo, which appeared regularly on the British television program Top of the Pops. This was necessary due to Smith's Cure contract, which forbade him from singing in any other bands (although he did sing on two Glove tunes.)
According to Smith, Blue Sunshine took 12 weeks to make, as the band spent most of the time partying nonstop (Smith says that they only spent a total of about five days actually recording.)
I've linked to the song "Mouth to Mouth," which was included as a bonus track on the 1990 album reissue. Why use a bonus track? Because it's awesome!
Enjoy!

One of my favorite song from the golden age... "The Glove is a supergroup that was a side project of Robert Smith and Steven Severin from British alternative...

Yeah, I'm not surprised, if you think about it. A bonus track on a reissue of a fairly obscure album probably isn't going to get a lot of exposure.

That has a heavy Flock of Seagulls synth feel at the beginning.
Wonder if Spinal Tap smelled this band?

Considering the star power of Smith and Severin, it's kind of an obscure album.
