Cephalalgia

Much as I want to be here until midnight because there is a scheduled 9-hour power interruption tomorrow from 9AM to 5PM, I cannot do so because I am having cephalalgia. This word is the medical term for headache- cephal- is ‘head’, and ‘-algia’ is pain or ache.
Sometimes I ask these terminologies to my students when they have their rotation examination. I often tell them that these terms are already in the gray matter of my brain cells since I was in my junior college year. It is stock knowledge.
The headache I am experiencing now may be due to seeing a very bright orange color and light. Maybe this is eyestrain. Well, I think having this cephalalgia signals me to temporarily stop my interaction here. I have to sleep now so the headache goes.
I hope to be back tomorrow as soon as the electricity resumes after 5PM.

@thelme55 oh, do you mean the head is massaged, maybe using a liniment or a balm, or oil?

@ridingbet you don't have to use oil or liniment for head massage. It is still good.

@ridingbet Champissage is an Indian head massage. I think a French word of head massage. This is the word I learned when I was working in a spa in Ireland. It was an offered massage treatment we had in that spa.

if the eyestrain keeps on going at longer duration, it might result to severe headaches. when i have eyestrain, i look at some green color objects like the trees.

I encounter that word when I'm training as a medical transcriptionist. Hope your headaches will be gone after some rest

@averygirl72 that is great.
my son suggested me to joining a site for medical transcriptionist. i am not so good in computers, so when i finished one set of their test and moved on to the next, i cannot type fast, so my son adjusted the speed of the questioning. still, i have not yet finished it.

If your eyes hurt it's better for you to sleep. I hope the situation is not worst than you imagine. I hate Power outages. good thing it doesn't happen here often.

that is why you are luckier there because you seldom experience brown outs.

@brokenbee correct. we who were the most affected last year, take most of the repairs of the damages. it is also NGCP that re-scheduled the power interruption on Monday, sadly.

@ridingbet yes Ate. Sometimes it's NGCP and most of the time, our local electric co. that has maintenance activities.
