Rather than focusing on a theme of various songs as usual, I am focusing on various bands, side projects of members of established bands. We are at #4 in the countdown: Arcadia. While guitarist Andy Taylor and bassist John Taylor (no relation) were busy being half of The Power Station, Duran Duran's vocalist Simon LeBon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, and drummer Roger Taylor (again, no relation) formed Arcadia in 1985 The project released just one album, the platinum So Red the Rose, which spawned five singles. LeBon has called it "The most pretentious album ever made," and was declared "The best album Duran Duran never made" by the Allmusic Guide. I've linked to the official video for "Election Day," which hit Top 10 in five countries and Top 20 in two. The song also benefits from, although she doesn't appear in the video, an appearance by Grace Jones. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I think it had more "bite" than Duran Duran.

It still would have made a great Duran Duran song, though. They didn't stray too far.

Vince plays golf with a Rick Evans and it is a big joke between them that as soon as they are introduced to someone they take great pains to say they are not related. With three Taylors in the band you'd think two would be related wouldn't you?

You would think so. But no, they just share a last name.

It was Duran Duran being called Arcadia. I couldn't tell you the difference.
