Grasshopper In the Summer Sun

I thought you might like to forget for a moment that it is cold outside and that winter is almost here and read a poem I wrote about a grasshopper enjoying the summer. For those of you who are in springtime or in warm climates I hope you enjoy this and smile whenever you see a grasshopper.
Today so sure and fast,
the artist’s brush,
dipped in green,
passed over each leaf, each nettle
and blade of grass.
Still this summer green
and even the drops of morning dew.
glistened green on blades of grass
and it suddenly seemed,
that all of this summer green,
washed over him -
like a stormy green sea.
Hopping to and fro,
peeking from beneath,
the blades of grass,
dappled in sunlight.
Feeling great joy,
the grasshopper,
began to sing -
like a troubadour.
Onstage he sang,
heartily and with passion,
he sang of the summer,
his chance at play,
wishing the seasons,
would never change,
the grasshopper sat dreaming -
in the summer sun.
Doesn't it feel warmer thinking of the summer?

It is warm here right now. In the low 70s.

Beautifully written! When everything is white, it reminds us that in a few months everything will be back to green.

Pretty cloudy here at the moment, although it's summer here all the time so thinking about summer wouldn't make much difference in my case.
