Christmas is one of the most important festivals in the world and it is widely celebrated. On mylot also, one could see numerous discussions related to Christmas, its preparations and other activities related to Christmas.
I understand that majority of mylotters celebrate Christmas. We do not celebrate Christmas but we enjoy the festivity around us. We even get a holiday for 25th December, every year.
I understand that there would be some mylotters who do not celebrate Christmas.
Are you the one, who do not celebrate Christmas festival?

Actually Christmas was a Pagan festival, which was combined by some missionries to attract Pagans into Christ; just as MIssionries are trying to use Jesus as Hindu god in India and Nepal.
Actually nobody can inform what is the birthdate of Jesus.
As for us, we get a holiday to celebrate, so enjoy the holiday.

It is good that you have adopted yourself to the local festival and celebrating Christmas has become a part of life. Understandably, you do not miss to celebrate any of the festival because you like festivity.

@much2say So your motive to participate in different festival is to devour different dishes (which are prepared during festivals).
. It is not a bad idea. This way you kill two birds with one stone - you not only enjoy the delicacies during festivals but also come to know more about a festival.

@dpk262006 Any reason to eat too
. Where we live, there are multi-cultural things happening around us, so it's quite easy to learn and participate in festivities from around the world.

Here in the Philippines, Catholics celebrates Christmas . It is one practice , that others would start preparing for, on September. Radios would air Christmas songs already on September 1. Others would put up their Christmas trees and decorations starting September.
On the eve of Christmas, we prepare foods for the midnight of 24th to celebrate Christmas at the strike of 12 midnight, then we will all gather and eat the foods prepared.
On Christmas day, we don't have to cook foods, because there are a lot of cooked foods to eat.

Thanks for explaining about Christmas and how and who celebrates it. I think you wanted to mention that preparation starts in the month December, which you have mentioned as September.
It is good to hear that you do not have to cook on the day of Christmas.

@SIMPLYD What are the reasons that Christmas preparations start so early in September in Philippines?

@dpk262006 No, others start decorating as early as September. Radios too air Christmas carols starting Sept. 1. That's how Filipinos are - - - a long time preparation and celebration of Christmas.

I agree with you. However, some of us go to Churches (who are not Christians) also to enjoy the festivity.

We get leave on almost all major festivals. We get a Christmas Holiday on 25th as India is a secular country and all religions are respected. However, we do not celebrate Christmas as such.
