He Or She Confusing How To Judge The Username.

Its a bit confusing at times to figure out who the user is male or female by the user names. Exceptional only if the display picture is revealing either ways its no chance. It once happened with me that I mistakenly addressed a lady as bro. and later she cleared me that she was sis. and not a bro. That was really an Oops moment because even the display picture couldn't reveal the identity This confusion still continues at times, but how to ask if you are a he or a she Image Credit:_ Pixabay.

It can be problematic - wondering who is what. I wrote about this in a post "Male of Female" - and I suggested that F or M could be placed next to the username.

I have been called "dude" by some people. As I am a woman, and an old woman, I´d say that dude is not the way to address me. But I would not address that way to anyone I don´t know in person. So, there are ways of responding that don´t include bro, sis or dude

But you have a picture that reveals who you are and even though you were addressed as dude. I should take your advice and not consider responding anyone bro sis or dude if I don't know the person

@nitirrbb7 That picture is maybe 30 years old What if I place a man´s picture? We can do anything we want as usernames go. A person is more than his/her genre

It happens when you don't know much about a person. I have addressed a female by calling her sir and she told me that she is a woman not a man.

I've been referred to as 'bro', 'man', and 'guy' on here but I never really mind them...

@nitirrbb7 Oh, and of course 'dude' and 'mate' too... Yeah, I don't really care as it's obvious that they do not know me and I do not really know them either... Besides, I don't really make it clear myself from my avatar/username about my gender...

Yeah at times specially with new comers when they have usernames and profile pics that don't reveal their identity.

I've had people call me that, and it's confusing why they do when my name is obviously female, and so is my picture, the one I had before this one, though I have had people tell me I look masculine. I don't see it. I'm definitely a female.

I like to have a cursory look at the profile of those I interact with, be they be their discussions or responses I receive. As you are aware some do not...

@Shiva49 Yeah most people are not so bothered if they are addressed as he instead of her, and the site might be working on it may be an update in the near future.
