Before I kids absolutely nothing about having them registered with me and I just couldnt relate to others having them or even family friends and it felt so far fetched that it was even possible I could be one but after having children all that changed and Its the greatest love to experience not all that fake infactuation so maybe thats why we cant stop raving and to be a part of it is an honor but since my friends from high school do not have kids our friendship pretty much dissipated and Im not mad and totally understand because Ive experienced it from both sides now.
About pets, Im sure its the same thing because I did get pretty attached to the rats I had when I was 18--trying expressing that. I do wish I had a dog before having kids because now having one just seems like work but I'll probably be one of those people dressing my chihauha up and painting her toenails after sending the kids off to college LOL, bring it on.

I don't really get people talking to me about pets but I don't get annoyed by the topic. Now, if someone were to talk to me about sport, I would get annoyed because I find that really really boring, but if someone talks to me about their children, I don't mind because I love to brag about how great my kids are! So I will let others do the same. The only time I'll get annoyed with other people talking about their kids is if they put them down or complain about them, or if they have already told me something a thousand times.
As for pets, I wouldn't get annoyed by someone talking about their pets but I probably wouldn't be very interested.

I only get annoyed when people talk about their kids like they're these GENIUS children. I'm sure that everyone likes to think of theirs as "special" and "gifted" and "highly intelligent" and "unusually unique" but come ON.
When little 10 year old Billy or Betty is sitting around eating their boogers, cross-eyed, drooling and screaming for their 7th Happy Meal I think it's safe to take Mensa off the speed dial.

Neither...rather how long they on and on about them. Sadly their are people in this world who nothing else to talk about. Most are probably loney for adult attention and would love to have something else to talk about..but they are at a lost to know what they should say..bring up topics they can relate to and see if they open up. Plus I think their are some so consumed by their enegery they put into parenting..they just need to vent. Listening is a great gift to give someone..
