my co-worker came into work the other day, sick as a dog, coughing and sneezing all over the place. y'know,i can understand sometimes when you need the money..or the boss threatens you if you don't come in..as they often do.. but it still kind of sucks for everybody else. i just got over pneumonia not too long ago, don't wanna be sick again this quick. at least put a mask on.

I got my pneumonia shot but i am still sick with a mild case. I a m so thankful that I am home coughing up (forgive the graphic expression) big green chunks from my lungs rather than in public either spreading what I have or catching something from someone else. Where I used to work the employees would save up their sick days to use when the weather was really nice and they wanted to go to the beach. They'd come to work sick and pass what they had around to everyone.

i agree. it should be the one who is sick who should wear a mask and constantly sanitize his hands to avoid infecting co-workers. but sometimes, you're forced to be the one to take precautions instead when they don't or won't.

People used to come into the place where I worked and everyone there would get sick. They had to come to work sick. If they did not they would loss money.

That's the way it works at most of the places here. Unless it's a state, county, union, or federal job you lose a day's pay for each day you call in sick.

What I never understood is when I worked in the food industry and they would make us come in sick, even though you are not supposed to work around food if you're sick. I've actually lost jobs because I "called in too much," but it was either that or pass my germs on to everyone. Bosses suck sometimes.

@scarlet_woman It's ridiculous employers try to make you work when you're sick. But it's either come in or be fired sometimes.

I am coming down with my second cold in less than two months. And I rarely get sick. Ugh.

I think it's irresponsible to go to work in that condition.

@scarlet_woman I hate this too, and some just don't care or try to be careful who their germs might attack.
