We return you now to our regular funk programming with #3 in my countdown of my favorite funk songs: "Dazz" by Brick. During a discussion with @crossbones27 earlier today, it was brought up that both punk and funk are hard to fake. You either have it or you don't. When it came to funk, these guys have it (oh yes, they are still going!) Atlanta, Georgia's Brick is the result of a 1972 merger of members of both a disco and a jazz band (get it? "Dazz?") Talk about starting things off with a bang! Brick's 1976 debut album, Good High, reached #19 on the Billboard 200, and #1 on that magazine's R&B chart. Even more impressive, "Dazz" reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and spent four weeks atop the R&B Singles chart. (Not to mention, here we are, 41 years later, and it's still considered a funk classic. Bona fide.) I've linked to a performance of the song from Soul Train. Enjoy! I got homage I got homage, nan nan to the nan. Just kidding we were talking about how shoutouts do not get people paid more the other few weeks ago. Have not been on here for a minute so say a few weeks and a lady, for some reason cannot remember her name but always gets crazy likes and comments. Anyway I said thought it was cool people pay respect, not about the few cents some one could get. Then told her I want some damn homage in a joking way. It was funny and you know I make bad jokes the worse. It was a great convo me and Scott, oops team freak had. Song fits in that realm perfectly.

I always try to mention people when I can. Sometimes I do forget. Sometimes it's hard to work in.

Classic 70s funk sound. And wasn't Don Cornelius always Mr. Cool?

I still remember hearing it on the radio when I was a kid.
