Parents Need to Sue Apple!

Every now and then there's a news report that elicits a number of reactions. One of those caught me unaware on the news today.
News outlets are reporting that two major investors in Apple, including the California State Teachers' Retirement System, are calling on Apple to "do something" about the "addiction" that children have to smart phones.
Y'know, I'm still trying to process that after seeing it, hearing it, and reading it a number of times.
Apple's new iPhone X costs a grand. That's one thousand dollars.
How many 12-year-olds do you know who have an extra thousand bucks lying around to buy a phone with?
I think the parents need to sue Apple. After all, it's obviously Apple's fault that parents are being coerced into buying iPhones for their kids, even children who aren't legally old enough to have an account on any social media outlet (where the minimum age is 13-14 years old). No doubt there's a "parents must buy an iPhone for little Johnny and Suzy" app buried deep inside the iOS that forces parents to purchase these things (and the accompanying cell phone plan) for their kids.
Parents are totally innocent here! They have no option!! Worse, they cannot remove the phones from their kids' hands, thanks to the hidden magnets in an iPhone that attracts a child's hand and forces the child to stare at the phone nonstop!!!!
Sue Apple, parents!! Sue, I say over this outrage!!!!
(The above message is sarcasm)

Hahaha now that's a very interesting news indeed. I have an iPhone X and it's more than $1,000 because I bought a 256gb one and not a 64gb which costs $999. I ordered one for my son as well and he's 13. He's currently using an iphone 7 and no he's not addicted to it nor did he ask me to get him the latest iPhone. It was my own decision to get him one.

Precisely. There's always some goofball "activist" organization here in America that'll blame everyone except who should be blamed for something. I hate to sound old (well, I am old
), but when I was a kid there was no TV watching until my homework was finished.
Nowadays, US school systems are doing away with homework all together, saying it's harmful to the child.

@FourWalls Now that's crazy. We didn't have tv on school days and my mom made sure of it with or without homework.

LOL. I totally understood your sarcasm. I was thinking to myself: “Yeah right. Sue Apple. Because … it's Apple's duty to raise your kids!!” If your kids get into trouble, the police will go knock on Apple's door and ask whoever answers the door why didn't THEY know what YOUR children were doing.
I got all kinds of scenarios running through my head on this.

Modern parents are good at blaming everyone (and everything) but themselves for any negative effects in their children's lives. It couldn't possibly be their own fault!

That is what I have noticed of kids having the toys like these Iphones as part of their recreation time in school either on television news reports or movies of kids being in school.

Fiona Apple is the daughter of Brandon Maggart, who was one of the stars of Brothers. That was the only TV show I’ve ever seen filmed1 person likes this
