If so, what have you done to deal with it? Did you take it somewhere to get it fixed? What did it cost?

My laptop gets hot, but not overheating. I have a cooling pad.

@MsBooklover It depends on how old your laptop is. If its older in age then it might just be that its older so it gets hot quicker. But if its relatively new, you may still have warranty

I have heard of the cooling pad. I am concerned there is something going on in the computer.

Laptop overheating is a common problem because there is very little clearance between the laptop and the surface below for air to circulate.

@MsBooklover This could be due to the fan becoming a little clogged and working less efficiently.

The fan might have just accumulated dirt and dust, there are so many videos on YouTube on how to open and clean it, if that's the problem ans you can do it it would cost you nothing.

@MsBooklover I really think it depends on you, if you are not confident with your ability and your talents do not fit this kind of stuff then don't do it, you are right it might bring more problems. I wish there was somebody there who could help you out.

I had a laptop that did that. It worked but it was so old the cost to fix it was more than to buy a new one. Since it worked for what I needed I just kept it. Hubby bought me a really cool fan designed for lap tops. It was like a tray you just set the laptop on

@MsBooklover the repair cost for labor wasn't the issue. It was locating the part
