Poem - Before We Were so Rudely ,,,

Shout, rant, scoff, interrupt, sneer and deride,
The pedant cuts in, pushing other speakers aside.
The slightest slip up, error or gap
Gives the Narcissist another opportunity to yap
With few daring to him to cease and desist,
So if the interrupted party struggles to resist
He comes across as the unreasonable one
Rude, crude condescension wins, all joy is gone.
Conversation reduced to competition and fight
Survival of the loudest, where the last word is right
The correctionist plays talk like a dice playing game
The party was ruined from the moment he came,
With eagerness to take over when those talking relax
His pitch invasions come over as intrusions and attacks
He knows a lot, and he’s learned, of that there’s no doubt
But he won’t write books – he just hurls his mockery about
He is like a heckler insulting the entertainer, singer and comic
Everyone enjoys them but he’ll dismiss them as chronic
Without ever daring to show that he could do a better act
He slags them off without subtlety, consideration , care or tact
He wants everyone to feel his smug superior intellect
He makes other speakers feel like some insignificant insect,
But somehow avoids the punch in the mouth many would offer
When he cuts in on their chat with some nonsense to proffer
He thinks himself bright, smart, clever and somehow eternally wise
But he’s just an annoying deeply irritating bully who ties
Up other tongues so he can feel centre stage
Among people who do well to contain their rage.
Despite the frustration and fury he has constantly ignited
The embodiment of Verbal Diorrea keeps on getting invited.
You are just chatting TV or greeting a long lost friend
When his cry of ‘are we having fun yet?’ signals the end
Of peaceful discreet friendly informal chatter
Suddenly the Great Gob-hole Almighty alone wants to matter
He really freaks out if you dare criticise or correct anything he says
The more he annoys you, the longer he stays.
He won’t let the lightest stammer or hesitation pass.
He was obviously off school the day they did shut the Hell up class.
Telling him to be quite sparks a rant of self-righteous indignation
That just adds to the sense of vocal bullying and intimidation
As another lovely night out gets spoilt for no worthwhile cause
Other than the man in love with his own voice moving his jaws

Damn brother, you wrote the crap out of this. Love this and bet you feel so great getting that out. I can only imagine. Verbal assault right there.
In a good way my friend and needed to be said. Thanks because I sure appreciate this. I hate bullies and dictators and Putin, oops did I say that out loud?

I feel like you are speaking about the rudeness on the internet now. Conversation reduced to competition and fight is the new Facebook on some posts. Very good poem and sadly the sign of our times.
