He broke it

We have two small electric chain saws. I think. Hubby got one out, and ran a cord and started cutting on the cedar branch that was broken.
Oh, do you want to know how we got it to finish coming off the tree and move to the back yard? I did it. I thought of it, and I (WE) did it.
I looked at the tree, and it was still connected just by bark, but it was huge. So I said to hubby "why don't we just pull it on down with the van?" He thought it was a good idea. Today he got the chain out of the storage shed and hooked it around a part of the tree that was on the ground. I was told to go drive the van around and back up to the chain. He hooked the chain to the van, I drove slowly forward, and the major portion of the tree was down, and moved out of the front yard. (There was a small part I just reached up and hung on.)
We could not do this Friday, and hubby could not do it while I was at herb class because the shed was frozen shut. Glad it thawed and he could get the chain to hook up the tree to the van.
So, hubby was using the small electric chain saw. . . and then he said "I think I just burned up the motor".
We put everything away, locked up the shed, and ended up buying a new, bigger, gas chain saw. We shall see how that works.

We were around 60 which is still really nice. It is a lot of work and will keep us out of trouble.

We just bought one like that yesterday. You mix a special oil into gasoline and go for it.

@JudyEv There are certain brands of lawn mowers that also require this.

@GardenGerty That's the sort. You mix petrol with oil. Sometimes it's called two-stroke fuel.

It is good when you can all work together and share. The herb class is one thing I do for myself regularly. Lots of good food.

@GardenGerty Wish we had something like that here. I do all my research on line and in books.

I hope so too. We came home from shopping and he watched football the rest of the day and evening.

@Juliaacv and @andriaperry We have the pole saw. Hubby did not care for it, said it did not stay plugged in well. That and the one he used yesterday were 14 inch. The new one is gas and is 18 inch.

It will be faster and stronger for sure. It will also help not to have a cord to work around.

That sounds like my husband, he owns a couple of electric saws and 1 gas powered one. But you only need them on occasion, so I think that number is higher then it should be, but what do I know about his tools, he doesn't tell me how many cooking utensils I need in the kitchen so i keep my comments to myself.

I know. I am glad he finally got the big one. I am not sure if he actually burnt up the small electric one, we will talk about it on a warmer day.1 person likes this

He can work on it whenever the weather permits, now. I was glad it was that easy.
