Dermatologists and Cough Drops from Switzerland

I would not normally associate dermatology and cough drops, so this was an odd connection.
I had a check-up with my dermatologist on Friday morning. When I checked in at the front desk, I saw a huge basket filled with Ricola cough drops. I did not need one, so sat down to wait.
Then another patient commented on the drops and the young man behind the desk explained that Ricola is owned by the doctor's cousin in Switzerland. The family name is Richterich, hence the first two letters of the brand name. The last two refer to the city where they are made, Laufen.
I did help myself to a few on the way out. The young man said that the office has a closet full of them.

I think that is one of the leading brands in the world. We have TV commercials for them here.

@JamesHxstatic I haven't heard of the brand here but that means nothing.

That is odd. Those are the type I use whenever I need cough drops.

Was Friday dermatologist day? I went to my dermatologist on Friday, too! Unlike yours, none of his relatives own cough drop companies, though....
Hope everything was okay for you. I got my message from my doctor this afternoon, and he said things were fine on the biopsies.

@JamesHxstatic -- "blue light treatment" sounds like a discount at K-Mart!
I've vaguely heard of it.
I had a terrible (as in first-degree burns) sunburn when I was stationed in Hawaii, so I get checked every six months. He always takes off three moles (I think that's what insurance will cover, and he's gonna go for it!) and freezes other spots. Glad I can help support his retirement.

Oh, no biopsy for me this time, just a checkup. I had a "blue light" treatment in November, pretty amazing. Ever heard of that? Only one doc here does it.
Glad your visit went well.

Ricola cough and sore throat drops are what I use. So much better than Halls. Bet you weren't expecting that relation.
