Sensitive America

i dont think the censors know what the meaning of a logo/symbol in sports means.its something that you are to be proud to represent and honor by paying respect to it and its there to represent the organization in a respectful manner. this is not censorship because of racism, its censorship based on ignorance. political correctness is dangerous to society.

I was surprised as well that the team gave in to public pressure. So if I wear a Cleveland Indians hat with a Chief Wahoo logo,does that make me insensitive?

I read somewhere that most Native Americans were not really upset about it, but a certain group of people who like to cause trouble stirred it up. I don't know, but that makes sense to me, since no one said anything about it for years.

Oh, it’s nothing new. My once-beloved Cincinnati Reds started calling themselves the Redlegs during the early days of the Cold War in the 50s, since “Reds” was the nickname of the Communist bloc. This comes around every 10-15 years or so. I’d just like some Consistency. The NCAA has said it’s okay for the Florida State Seminoles to keep their American Indian logo, but the Univesity of Illinois Fighting Illini had to “retire” their American Indian, who was deemed “offensive.”
