Rude awakening

Our guy friend came over this weekend. Friday night our pantry door fell off one of its hinges and he came and fixed it. He came back on Sunday to finish it up and mop. We pay him to do that, it helps me money wise and us because mopping is nearly impossible for the wife and painful for me. As we were finishing up the afternoon, he said that he had to get to work early to help someone on Monday. The wife asked what time did he have to be up to get there by 7 a.m. and he said 4. I said I'd call him, after all, after he was up, I could go back to sleep, I didn't have to be any where. I set my phone right then, and, in spite of being up until 1 a.m., I woke up and called him just fine. I had hung up after I was sure he was up, and settled down to go back to sleep. That's when Gabby and Mo had a little spat. Neither of these cats like the other cats a lot, but will generally be pretty tolerant. This time, however, Gabby took a swing at Mo and, being how it was dark and I had my eyes shut, I have no idea how it happened, but I was scratched right under my eye. I knew she hadn't gotten my eye directly, I've had a few minor injuries to my eye in the past and this wasn't what it felt like, but it hurt - bad. I got up and went to the bathroom to wash it. There was a pretty fair amount of blood - that's good actually, bleeding washes the dirt out. I washed my hands, then lathered up and washed the wound. It started right at the inside corner of my left eye and went down, and a little to the left for about a half inch. I let the dogs out so I could go through the medicine cabinet, but I couldn't find the antibiotic cream/ointment. I know I have some, but you know you can never find these things when you need them. Because of the proximity to my eye, I figured I'd better call the doctor, but because I'm cheap, I waited until the office was open and got an appointment. The doc said it might blacken up the next day or so, and I do have some red streaks and a bit of swelling around and under the cut, but for a 3rd black eye, its nothing. Now, when our guy friend, J, sees it, he'll panic, its what he does.
