Diary Monday 29th January 2018 My last welfare day this month went quicker than usual as my advisor was unable to access most of his computer files, but I now have to return every ten days rather than every fourteen for a while. This was the first day for use of my new bus fare saver ticket too, 27 days to go before I need a new one. I had to call in to the council offices to declare recent pot office earnings, despite them being happy for me to post them in by e-mail before now – they suddenly denied receiving many of the documents so I took them in personally and later filed a complaint about how they have treated me. Diary Tuesday 30th January 2018 The cheap food pick up day at the community centre, where it is possible to get quite a lot of near sell by date groceries in a random bag full for jut £2.00. It was quite a good election today. Diary Wednesday 31st January 2018 The end of the first month of the year. I got my welfare pay today which was great, though many bills had to be paid. Later I went to the community centre to use the computers for job searching and printing out my script for a talk I’m giving in a few day’s time at the university. Arthur Chappell

I get the idea that someone who works at the council offices likes seeing you in person.

Do you have to be a member of the community center before you can access their computer? We have community centers here but I have always associated it with preschools as that's what they do. it would never occur to me to go to a community center to use the computer...cyber cafe maybe.

@Gita17112016 you can use your own passwords so the centre computers are as safe as a home one

@arthurchappell I guess our community is not very sensitive.

Boo to having to go in more often! I think it is great they do the food like that there, wish they did that here. Good luck on the job search.

@Daelii I don't think they were missing - they just never looked for them properly in the first place

The council sound like our HR Department at work. Utterly ineffectual and unorganised.

I find it's a lot better to do occasional printing at somewhere like an internet cafe rather than have the expense of buying printer with its expensive, short-lived cartridges.
