I’ve just read Fleur’s post (@Fleura) about a possible outbreak of threadworms at her child’s school. You can catch up here: This reminds me of a time about 35 years ago when our doctor recommended that I dose the whole family for worms. Everyone in town was getting the same advice as there had been a bit of an outbreak at the school. I said I wasn’t sure I could get Vince to take a worm powder. The doctor had the answer to that. ‘Put it in his gravy’, he said. ‘He’ll never know he’s had it’. Has your wife served you gravy lately, guys? Like Fleur, I've added a lovely flower photo rather than anything more relevant.
We just received a message from Little One’s school saying that cases of threadworms have been identified among some children. We are asked to check our...

How did Vince take the news when you told him? When did you "spill the beans"...er, I mean gravy?

@JamesHxstatic I have to admit I didn't want to take my medicine either so I just gave it to the kids. I told Vince later. I'm not really sure what he thought. It's too long ago.

The reason my hubby will not eat spaghetti is he thinks it looks like worms. I hope not to have to ruin gravy for him.

Vince isn't fond of spaghetti either. And I agree, it does look like worms.

@Raelove I really didn't need to know that! Our doctor kept maggots in the fridge for when he went fishing. It seemed a strange thing for a doctor to do.

@Raelove I know they did this during the war. Do they still do it? I can understand that there might be a need for it (and it's certainly a cheap alternative!) but no, not a big fan.

That was the best method to serve it. However, we take (all family members) medicines for worms every six months.

That would violate my rights and the worm's as well cause there was no consent to kill and eradicate them

@JudyEv yes it's a very serious parasitic infestation that should not be taken for granted, left untreated it could spread to the skin , lungs and other vital organs, think it also could affect the heart.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I think when diseases like whooping cough and diphtheria become rare then young mums stop bothering about vaccinations and suddenly they have another epidemic on their hands. I didn't know there was much TB around so that's news to me.

@yugocean You don't eat the worm. You take a powder that kills any worms you might have. I'm not sure if you understood me properly.

That's good but vegetarians and vegans can still have worms. The worms don't come in the meat you eat but can be picked up in all sorts of ways.

What is the problem in giving simple pill of de-worming to your husband after telling him what exactly this is meant for? Thread worm problem is a common problem prevailing all over the World and good thing about it is that it is having simple cure and can be treated easily! Wish you all the best dear @JudyEv ! Thanks!

There is nothing wrong at all with taking a pill for worms and it is a very sensible thing to do. I guess back 40 years ago it wasn't a subject that was talked about much and no adult would want to think they might have worms, much less a MAN think they might be infected. If it had been a real problem I'm sure we'd have all taken our medicine like grown-ups. It's just a bit of a laugh at male egos. I hope you're having a great day.
