Have your choices led you astray?

As an adult it is up to you to make the right choices.We all know this. But I think it is important to really acknowledge this. I never ask for any handouts. It is only my fault that I am in this situation. I plan to set more sources of income so I will be more financially secure if I ever end up in this situation again. What I find funny is this:my mother has worked so hard her entire life. She has been a well paid Doctor for the past 10 yrs and just moved up as part of the board of directors for a company that has literally quadrupled its size this past year. My mother has lent (landed?) me money here and there to stay a float. During these past 2 months. On the other hand we have my boyfriend's mother, who I respect, but she is the complete opposite. Life is a party to her, she works at a local gas station. To each is own. However, whenever she runs into the littlest situation she calls up her entire family including her son for money. Both ladies close in age, both chose different paths and both handle their situations differently. So just keep in mind on where you want to be in life, enjoy your time and have fun but also make sure you are setting yourself up for success down the road. I know I don't want to be in a situation where I am asking my child for money, I want to be able to provide for her in her times of need.
